চার বছরের দীর্ঘ অপেক্ষার পর বিশ্বভারতীর ঐতিহ্যবাহী পৌষমেলা ফিরল তার চিরপরিচিত জাঁকজমকের সাথে। ইউনেস্কোর বিশ্ব ঐতিহ্যের তকমা পাওয়ার পর এবার মেলা আয়োজন হল আরও বৃহৎ পরিসরে, যেখানে মিলেমিশে একসাথে হাত ধরেছে কেন্দ্র, রাজ্য, ও জেলা প্রশাসন।
২১ ডিসেম্বর ভোরবেলার বৈতালিক ও সানাইয়ের সুরে পূর্বপল্লির মাঠে মেলার সূচনা হয়। গৌর প্রাঙ্গণ থেকে শুরু হওয়া পৌষ উৎসবে মহর্ষি দেবেন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের স্মরণে ভক্তিমূলক পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি হয়। উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্বভারতীর উপাচার্য বিনয়কুমার সোরেন, বীরভূমের জেলাশাসক বিধান রায়, জেলা পরিষদের সভাধিপতি কাজল শেখসহ বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্বরা।

After a hiatus of four long years, the iconic Poush Mela of Visva-Bharati has returned with its traditional grandeur.
